Welcome to Jackson, NH

Where You Should Be!

Welcome to Jackson, NH … where YOU should be!

Jackson, NH Offers a Unique, Four-season, White Mountain Experience.

The Jackson area offers classic New Hampshire White Mountain Villages–such as Jackson, Intervale, Bartlett, Glen, and Hart’s Location–which have held a special attraction for visitors from around the globe for decades. Just eight miles from North Conway, yet without all the hustle and bustle, the Jackson area is also the gateway to Pinkham Notch.

The area’s landscape, complete with the Jackson “Honeymoon” covered bridge built in 1876, white steeple churches, high mountains, and rolling farmland, has been deemed “sublime” and captured on canvas, and photographed by renowned artists and photographers from far and wide. The villages’ grand hotels, comfortable inns, and original restaurants are known for their hospitality as well as world-class fine dining.

Together these villages, located on the edges of 750,000 acres of the White Mountain National Forest, offer spectacular natural beauty, and as much four-season recreation as you’ll find in all of the northeastern United States. Hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, golfing, ice skating, snowshoeing … plus alpine, backcountry, and cross-country skiing on some of the finest trails in the East.

And don’t forget horse-drawn sleigh rides that whisk you away and make you feel as though you have landed in a Currier and Ives landscape. Our crystal clear waterfalls, winding meandering rivers, relaxing lakes, and pristine beaches, offer you a wide variety of outdoor water experiences.

Jackson is a “picture perfect” vacation and wedding destination whose history continues to stay alive through the efforts of the Jackson Historical Society members and volunteers who are very active in preserving and presenting local history. Visit the historic Trickey Barn which was completely dismantled, moved, and reconstructed into the beautiful new Jackson Library. The former Trickey Barn cupola now rests just a few short steps outside of the Library located on Route 16A in the heart of Jackson Village. You can learn all about the history of this building and more at the Historic Society located along the “Village Loop” at the junction of Route 16 and 16A one-half mile north of the covered bridge… where you’ll find Jackson’s history come alive.

At night, as you turn in from all the excitement of the day, you will want to be sure to look up into the sky… where you will see an unforgettable star-filled sky. When meteor showers are predicted this is the setting you will want to have to view them just right!

Jackson Village is your quintessential New England Village and Where YOU Should Be!

We had the pleasure of visiting Jackson last year while on holiday in the states and the scenery was just beautiful it reminded me a lot of home back here in the uk. It was also where we experienced one of those once in a lifetime moments when we witnessed a bear near the local river looking for his breakfast in the water, it was truly amazing!

“My favorite vacation spot is Jackson, NH! I first visited Jackson when I was 8ish and I loved it since. Now almost 40 years later, I bring my own family for great scenery, clean air, and warm hospitality.. Absolutely love the White Mountains, the North Conway area, and Jackson NH…”
